The Peninsula Beverly Hills

The Peninsula Beverly Hills is my favorite hotel in Los Angeles.  Of course, there are newer options and other hotels that have been renovated recently. But for me, nothing can match the charm and level of service you receive at the Peninsula.  I stay there frequently whenever I am in LA for the night.  Usually, my stays are one or two nights, they always allow me to check in early and provide late checkout, on almost all occasions I received a room upgrade.  Upon arrival, I am always greeted warmly by the valets and bell staff.  I am quickly checked in by the front desk and escorted to my room.  Upon arrival in my room, there is always a welcome beverage and fruit plate as well as a pillowcase monogrammed with my initials, it is these touches that keep me coming back again and again.

On most stays, I spend time at the pool on the roof, where staff is on hand to bring you food and beverages as you lounge in the sun.  I always have at least one room service meal when staying there and the club sandwich is one of the best I have ever had.  Twice daily housekeeping is provided, and all of the hotel staff is incredibly kind and always willing to help.  They provide things you don’t even think you will need, if they see sunglasses on the desk they leave a Peninsula branded lens cleaning cloth.  It is this attention to detail that makes this hotel truly special.

The wood-paneled bar is gorgeous and always serves wonderful cocktails and the people-watching is quite good too.  Afternoon tea is available and is worth a try, some of the best tea sandwiches I have ever had.  The concierge is always there to help with securing hard-to-get reservations, shopping appointments, and arranging the house car to drive you around Beverly Hills. The Rolls Royce house car can take you to dinner and then when you are ready to go back to the hotel just call the hotel and they will bring you back.  The hotel also features a full-service spa that offers amazing massages and other treatments.

The rooms are decorated in a traditional style and are somewhat dated but this only adds to the charm of this incredible property, at the end of the day it’s the staff, service, and attention to detail that keep me coming back again and again.
